Aura Marina Castañeda Chacón, nacida el 25 de septiembre de 1959 en la Ciudad de
Guatemala, Guatemala, falleció el sábado 27 de junio de 2026. Más adelante hizo de
Nueva York su hogar, donde construyó una vida llena de fe, amor, bondad y profunda
devoción hacia quienes la rodeaban.
Aura Marina fue una mujer Cristiana, fuerte y determinada, llena de fe, llena de gracia,
belleza,suave, delicada llena de compasión y calidez. Era amable, generosa, dedicada,
divertida, alegre y serena de espíritu. Su fortaleza se reflejaba en la manera en que
enfrentaba los desafíos de la vida con valentía y paz, sabiendo manejar los momentos
difíciles sin estrés y con una tranquila confianza.
Ella se entregó generosamente a sus padres, sus hermanos, su hermana, su familia y
sus amigos. Aura Marina tenía un amor inmenso por todos los que la rodeaban, y su
presencia brindó consuelo, alegría y ternura a muchas vidas. Será recordada como una
mujer de corazón abierto, de fe firme y de un amor que dejó una huella perdurable.
Es recordada con amor por su hermana, Elizabeth Castañeda, y el esposo de
Elizabeth, Timothy Garrand; su hermano Víctor Hugo Castañeda, su esposa, Paula
Barrios Castañeda, y sus hijos, Axel, Abner y Dana Castañeda; su hermano Samuel
Alberto Castañeda y Mario Roberto Castañeda (con mucho amor); Mayra Sandoval; y Noe Castañeda.
La memoria de Aura Marina vivirá para siempre en los corazones de quienes la
amaron. Será extrañada por siempre jamás, y su familia se aferra a la bendita
esperanza de verla nuevamente algún día en el cielo. Su gracia, bondad, fe y espíritu
generoso continuarán inspirando a todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.
Su familia encuentra consuelo al saber que sus amados padres, Víctor Manuel
Castañeda y Celsa de Jesús de Castañeda, la reciben con alegría en el cielo y

Se realizará un velorio privado en La Fe Funeral Home en Brooklyn,
182 Wyckoff Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, el Jueves 2 de Julio de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m.

Durante la segunda mitad del velorio habrá un servicio.

Aura Marina Castañeda Chacón, born on September 25, 1959, in Guatemala City,
Guatemala, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She later made New York her
home, where she built a life filled with faith, love, kindness, and deep devotion to those
around her.
Aura Marina was a Christian woman of faith, full of grace, beauty, compassion, and
warmth. She was kind, giving, nurturing, fun, happy, and calm in spirit. Her strength
showed in the way she faced life's challenges with courage and peace, knowing how to
handle difficult moments without stress and with quiet confidence.
She gave generously of herself to her parents, her brothers, her sister, her family, and
her friends. Aura Marina had an immeasurable love for everyone around her, and her
presence brought comfort, joy, and tenderness to many lives. She will be remembered
as a woman whose heart was open, whose faith was strong, and whose love left a
lasting mark.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Elizabeth Castañeda, and Elizabeth's
husband, Timothy Garrand; her brother Victor Hugo Castañeda, his wife, Paula Barrios
Castañeda, and their children, Axel, Abner, and Dana Castañeda; her brother Samuel
Alberto Castañeda, Mario Roberto Castañeda (with lots of love); Mayra Sandoval; and Noe Castañeda.
Aura Marina's memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be
missed forever and ever, and her family holds on to the blessed hope of seeing her
again one day in heaven. Her grace, kindness, faith, and generous spirit will continue to
inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her beloved parents, Victor Manuel Castañeda
and Celsa de Jesús de Castañeda, are joyfully welcoming her in heaven and
celebrating her life and legacy. There is no other Aura, no other Nequita, no other sister,
daughter, and friend like her in the whole world. Love, love, love, love you forever
Nequita, Aura, Aury. Amen.

A private wake will be held at La Fe Funeral Home in Brooklyn,
182 Wyckoff Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
During the second half of the wake there will be a service.
