Obituary

NOTICE: THE FAMILY KINDLY REQUEST: In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any contributions or donations be made directly to CARMEN QUINONES. Your support and understanding during this difficult time are sincerely appreciated.

Edwin Quiñones, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and mentor, passed away on November 7, 2025. Born on November 22, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY; Edwin carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life. Though Brooklyn shaped his early years, it was in the Bronx, NY, where he built his home, his community, and his legacy.

He was the cherished son of Carmen Quiñones and the deeply loved brother of Kelly, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Jose Quiñones. Among the many roles Edwin held, none were more important or more treasured than being a father. His daughter, Yamilette—his Yami—was his entire world. Everything he did, every sacrifice he made, every battle he fought, was with her in his heart. His devotion to her was unwavering, and his strength in providing for her was nothing short of remarkable.

Edwin's impact stretched far beyond his home. He dedicated countless hours to the young athletes at "El Maestro" Boxing Gym, offering not only training but guidance, support, and hope. To many, he was more than a coach—he was a mentor, a motivator, and a steady hand pushing them toward greatness. His presence in that gym changed lives, and his legacy will continue in every young boxer he inspired.

Known for his incredible strength, not just of body, but of spirit, Edwin faced every chapter of life with resilience, loyalty, and love. He fought tirelessly to give his daughter the best life he could, and he touched countless hearts along the way.

Edwin will be remembered for the way he loved, the way he fought, and the way he lifted others even while carrying his own burdens.

Edwin's legacy lives on in every person he inspired, every life he touched, and especially in the heart of his beloved daughter, Yami. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to his mother, Carmen Quiñones, as a gesture of support during this difficult time.
